About Us

We are thrilled to announce that as of December 2011 we have been approved by The Arc of US and The Arc of PA to expand our service area to include Clearfield County.  We look forward to meeting new people and helping serve the needs of those children and adults in Clearfield County that may or may not already know of us and our programs.
We have been around for 45 years and still growing!!!!!

Our Facilities

Camp Friendship is located approximately 3 miles out of Reynoldsville on Route 322 towards Brookville.   Turn Right onto Cameron Camp Road and then turn right again onto Oven Road.  Our 8 acre camp sits right there on the corner.

Recreation and Respite Club is located at 36 Hoover Avenue in DuBois right next to The Meadows Frozen Yogurt.  Newly opened in October 2011 we are excited to bring a much needed social club to our special needs population 18 and over.  This is a place to come together and socialize, play games, watch tv, do crafts, take a cooking class, make new friends, whatever it is THEY want to do.  Hours are M-W-F from 1 to 8pm.

Our *new* Recreation & Respite Club

The Recreation and Respite Club continues to grow and support more adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).  Our members come to our facility and have the opportunity for some beneficial social time while having  time to learn some cooking skills during our cooking classes or getting some physical activity when we hold Zumba classes or Wii Bowling tournaments.  Michelle Battaglia is our program director.   Michelle has 20+ years experience with The Arc and shows each and every individual that their best interest is her focus.  Michelle strives to bring fun new opportunities to our members when she can.  The hours for our club are M-W-F from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Adult Saturday Program

Adult Recreation & Socialization Program This program’s goal is aimed toward enhancing the individual’s self-image, social skills and abilities to deal with spare time.  It is recreation in nature.

Individuals have the opportunity to engage in social and personal relationships, participate in recreational activities throughout the community, develop life skills within the community and achieve a better quality of life.

To participate in this program please contact your Case Manager through MH/MR.

Summer Day Camp Programs

The Arc offers 3 separate day camps during the summer months at Camp Friendship in Reynoldsville.  Students from Punxsutawney, Brookville, Brockway, and the DuBois School Districts who are part of the special education program are invited to participate.

This camp gives them an opportunity to socialize with peers while participating in classes such as gym, nature, art and music.  Each day offers a special activity planned for the afternoon inviting members from the community to share information (fire fighters, dog trainers, dental hygienists…).

Our camp program is always looking for volunteer junior counselors  and kitchen help.
