Our Facility Camp Friendship is located approximately 3 miles out of Reynoldsville
towards Brookville. Turn Right onto
Cameron Camp Road and then turn right again onto Oven Road. Our 8 acre camp sits right there on the
corner. We are so proud of the support
we’ve received each year from our Run/Walk for Someone Special event to help us
maintain such a nice facility.
Services
Adult Recreation
& Socialization Program
This program’s goal is aimed toward enhancing the individual’s
self-image, social skills and abilities to deal with spare time. It is recreation in nature. Individuals have the opportunity to engage in
social and personal relationships, participate in recreational activities
throughout the community, develop life skills within the community and achieve
a better quality of life.
Summer Camp We offer 3 separate day camps during the summer months at Camp
Friendship in Reynoldsville. Students
from Punxsutawney, Brookville, Brockway, and the DuBois School Districts who
are part of the special education program are invited to participate. This camp gives them an opportunity to
socialize with peers while participating in classes such as gym, nature, art
and music. Each day offers a special
activity planned for the afternoon inviting members from the community to share
information (fire fighters, dog trainers, dental hygienists…)
Child Playgroup/Family Support We offer a
monthly Playgroup for special needs children each month on the first Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at
Camp Friendship and a second support group which meets in Punxsy at the Children's Playhouse Daycare Center on the third Thursday evening of each month from 6 to 8pm. We have volunteers
lined up each month to do activities with the children while the parents
network together to share stories, ask questions, find new resources, and
realize that we are not in our situation all alone.
We have a variety
to different disabilities represented within our group and we welcome anyone
who is in need of a listening ear and some social time for the children.
